Jane is a Novocastrian who studied Music at Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and has taught Music at Newcastle Grammar School for the past 9 years. The style you see has been developed over many years and continues to unfold, intensify and develop

“I love where my painting takes me and what can be seen about me in my work. People innocently make comments about these naive images that are capable of cutting to my core.

Painting absorbs and delights me. I endeavour to perfect the colours, blending, shapes and faces and have never once tired of a work in progress or anticipated its last stroke.

Yes, they take a long time – many hours in another place I love to be. It is a quiet place within and there is no talking there.

I am a colourist at heart and the palette for each work forms before my eyes before I start and then off I go into a little world of colour and silly shoes.

The framing of my work is the last part of the journey and I can not rest until I am utterly enchanted by the final product. Do enjoy my lil pictures.”
