CELIA PERCEVAL is a self-taught painter who has spent many years working in Europe: 2 years painting in London before moving to France, where she painted for a further two years in the south of France and Italy.

When she returned to Australia in 1974, Perceval spent 18 months painting in New England, Queensland and Western Australia. In 1976 she returned to Europe and set up a studio in Wales, where she worked for 12 years, travelling also to Ireland and other parts of the British Isles. Throughout this time she made occasional painting trips back to Australia.

Before returning to Australia in 1987, Perceval spent one month working in southern India. Now based in Newcastle, Celia has been painting around the Hunter Valley, northern Queensland, the Flinders Rangers SA, Grampian Mountains in Victoria, and the Blue Mountains.
