Born Austria, 1943

WERNER FILIPICH has lived in Australia all of his adult life, having migrated here in 1950. His superb landscape paintings are imbued with his love of this country. Australian art has developed in many directions over the years, but the demand for traditional landscape painters has not diminished. This is most evident in the success of Filipich's previous exhibitions, resulting in virtual sell outs. Filipich's crisp, Australian Impressionist style delights many overseas visitors, and as a result, his work adorns the walls of homes in many countries.
