Born Melbourne, Victoria, in 1941

Judy Talacko studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, graduated Diploma of Art, 1963. Throughout the 1960's, she worked mostly on Australian landscapes in both oil and watercolour, and paintings of native flora in watercolour. In Sweden from 1974, she turned to more poetic, figurative painting, floral still-lifes and portraits in oils and watercolours. On returning to Australia in 1981, Talacko was inspired by Heidelburg School and Impressionist works, from which developed her present style of painting. Current work focuses on seascapes (with or without figures) and floral still-lifes in oils or pastel and pencil.
