ARTISTS STATEMENT
Black is Black & White is White & sometimes the twain shall meet.
This series has been one of the most interesting, & challenging I have experienced.
I have explored, & discovered just how many colours, shapes & textures can be found in these two opposites
To see a painting, or more so to create a painting that first appears to be just BLACK or plain WHITE, slowly but surely giving up images that are so subtle & intriguing, is a wonderful experience.
While creating this series, a challenge arose for me that I have not experienced before--- to create many different paintings in one. Shapes & colours change, appear & disappear as one moves around the painting
I call it "INVOLVEISM"!
I am forever grateful to my old teacher Desiderious Orban for opening the world of creative art for me & for giving me the opportunity to become his teaching partner.
Apart from still discovering new & exciting things for myself. I am able to carry on his teaching & give to others the enlightenment & never ending joy of creative art
