Rhondda Walters | Curriculum Vitae

RHONDDA. M WALTERS
Born 1930

WITH OVER 40 YEARS CONTINUOUS EXPERIENCE, RHONDDA COMMENCED HER ART INSTRUCTION IN 1967 WHEN 37 YEARS OF AGE

NOW AT 80, SHE IS STILL PASSIONATE ABOUT BOTH CREATING & TEACHING ART.

While having a keen interest in art since a young child, Rhondda really took it up seriously when 37 and sought instruction from Ross Davis, Jan Bravery and in 1970 from Desiderious Orban, all of whom she has survived, and is still blessed with good health and with no lack of enthusiasm

Desiderious Orban had the greatest influence in developing her expertise, to the extent that in 1976 she became his teaching partner in the Orban Studio firstly in The Rocks and then in Both Sussex and George Streets Sydney. Currently she teaches friends at her studio which is in a boatshed right on the waterfront at Kilaben Bay on the shores of Lake Macquarie.
Rhondda loves to share her Art experience, and the exhibition at Cooks Hill in February is the first of different celebratory exhibitions to be held throughout the Hunter & beyond during 2010 to show that being 80 is no bar to an active and productive life.
