I find my inspiration everywhere when I travel and sometimes in the smallest detail. These works are my feelings , my impressions of where I have been.
From the busy and very colourful Alexandria Harbour to picking up a piece of fabric as I walk around the medieval bazaar of Klan al- Khalili. Elements of topographical landscape and many symbols are incorporated into the works as with the large vats in the Tanner`s market in Fez, Morocco.
Rajasthan, India is a blur of yellows, pinks,burnt oranges,warm greens subtle indigos and deep maroon reds in the womens sarees, the architectural forms such as wayside shrines, domed mosques, turrets, mughal arches and sparse desert vegetation.
This and the fascination with ancient civilisations is the basis for this work
