Best wishes for the new year, rather belated I know, however I'm just back today from a break. The gallery will be open over the Australia Day weekend in revised gallery hours. I look forward to catching up with you over the weekend.

Well what's in store for the 2009 year

- This long weekend we have a Summer exhibition which celebrates water to cool off noting the typical Australia Day long hot days !!
Artist such as David Perks - Newcastle harbour scenes; Paul Haggith - water sparkle; a new exhibitor Robbie Barber - Elephant series; Phillip Pomroy - historical Sydney harbour and overseas subjects; Rod Bathgate - pastels and oils of local beaches; Susan Weaver - waterfall themes; Bill Dodds - local seascapes; James Drinkwater - Paul O'Brien's light play with reflective surfaces all celebrate our summer time with water themes.
We will also have examples of our artists who will exhibit during the year. To name a few -  Matthew Perceval, Paul Haggith, Ken Strong, Amber Jane Sterling, Warrick Timmins, Harry Pidgeon, Steve Glassborow.

Opening Friday February 6  at 6:00 p.m            
Caelli Jo Brooker & Neal Booth exhibition titled "Light and Earth"

Both are post graduate students from Newcastle University and exhibit all the hallmarks of successful artists who will build their career in the years to come. They balance work, home and painting - no easy solution which indicates their commitment to their art and personal tenacity.  Exhibition continues until March 2.

Opening Friday March 6 at 6:00 p.m.                 
Paul Haggith - Reflections                                                               
Paul's career escalated rapidly in 2006 when he was hung in the Wynne Prize AGNSW.

Rebecca Pierce - Figurative, Still Life and Landscapes
Exhibition continues until April 27.
